The Role
As a Senior Planner, you'll take responsibility for managing planning applications, appeals, and appraisals from inception through to delivery. You'll play an integral role in advising clients, preparing reports, and liaising with local authorities to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This role will suit someone who thrives in a client-facing environment and enjoys the challenge of a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a range of planning applications, appeals, and development proposals
Preparing and submitting planning documentation, reports, and statements
Providing expert advice to clients, landowners, and developers
Undertaking site assessments and research to support planning strategies
Representing the company at meetings, hearings, and consultations
Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues as part of the wider team
Building and maintaining client relationships to support business development
About You
The successful Senior Planner will be proactive, commercially aware, and passionate about delivering high quality planning advice. You'll be confident managing projects independently and have excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and local authorities.
Requirements:
RTPI-accredited degree or postgraduate qualification
MRTPI status (or working towards)
Relevant planning experience (preferably in consultancy or private sector)
Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and development management processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines
