We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected logistics and distribution company based in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join a busy, supportive team, managing the daily coordination of HGV movements across Devon and Cornwall.

The Role:

As Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and managing daily HGV operations across the region. Working closely with Customer Services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring deliveries are completed on time and customers receive the highest standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and optimise HGV routes across Devon and Cornwall
  • Work in close collaboration with the Customer Service team to ensure delivery requirements are met and issues are resolved promptly
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and make real-time adjustments as needed
  • Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and driver hour regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport records using TMS
  • Liaise with warehouse and operations teams to coordinate logistics smoothly

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
  • Solid knowledge of UK transport laws and driver hours
  • Familiarity with transport management systems and route planning tools
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
  • Regional knowledge of Devon and Cornwall is advantageous
