Dispatch Team Leader
- Salary Circa: up to 32,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.
- Location: Eye, Suffolk.
- Industry: Manufacturing.
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent.
We are representing a leading UK-based Food Manufacturing Company, dedicated to producing high-quality products for major retailers and foodservice providers. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a hands-on and motivated Dispatch Team Leader to join their fast-paced logistics team and ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient dispatch of their finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of dispatch operatives to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of customer orders.
- Coordinate daily workloads, shift planning, and task delegation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company standards.
- Liaise with the Dispatch Manager, Production, and Transport teams to manage order flow and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and update systems accordingly.
- Support the training and development of team members.
- Monitor stock levels of packaging and dispatch materials, raising any shortages.
- Conduct checks to ensure goods are packed, labelled, and dispatched correctly.
- Investigate and resolve dispatch errors or delays in real time.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics as a Team Leader - ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Proven ability to lead or supervise a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong understanding of dispatch and stock control processes.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, traceability, and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems under pressure, and adapt quickly to change.
- Competent in using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) systems.
- Good numeracy and attention to detail, particularly with order accuracy and labelling.
- Flexible, proactive approach with a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
