Dispatch Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Dispatch Operator to facilitate the planning, preparation, and loading of customer orders. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and efficient dispatch, supporting the company’s packing, transport, and distribution processes to ensure efficient product delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the company’s packing, transport, and distribution processes to ensure efficient product delivery.
  • Liaise with the Distribution department to coordinate collections and prepare materials in advance.
  • Collate and prepare orders for dispatch.
  • Assist in the Parts Packing and Wood Shop areas when required.
  • Promote and maintain a zero-harm environment by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Manage driver arrivals and departures, ensuring accurate paperwork is completed and handed to Distribution.
  • Sort and prepare sales orders for dispatch ahead of collection.
  • Keep yard areas tidy and ensure packed goods are stored in designated areas.
  • Assist the Goods In department with unloading when needed.
  • Ensure high standards of work through self-checking and peer inspection.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Accurately complete job bookings using the company’s computer systems.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar operator role.
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to a high standard.
  • Team player with a positive and open attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of packing and dispatch operations.
  • Awareness of safety compliance.
  • Good general level of secondary education.
