Are you an experienced and passionate social worker looking to make a real impact in safeguarding children? Suffolk County Council is seeking a dedicated Children's Social Work Consultant to join our dynamic Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team.

About the Role

As a Social Work Consultant within MASH, you will play a pivotal role in decision-making and risk assessment at the front door of children's services. You'll work closely with partner agencies to ensure timely and effective safeguarding responses, providing expert guidance and oversight to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support complex safeguarding enquiries and decision-making.
  • Provide professional supervision and mentoring to social workers within the team.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners including police, health, and education.
  • Ensure high-quality assessments and threshold decisions are made in line with statutory guidance.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in children's social care, ideally within a safeguarding or MASH setting.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and partnership working abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
