Morson Talent are proud to be supporting one of the UK's most critical infrastructure programmes within the civil nuclear sector. We are currently looking for an Assistant Estimator to join the Sizewell B project delivery team on a permanent basis, playing a key role in supporting a portfolio of defueling and decommissioning projects across the UK's nuclear fleet.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow within a project controls environment, gaining hands-on experience on major engineering programmes. Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Estimator, you will be responsible for supporting the development and review of cost estimates, ensuring compliance with internal standards and client expectations. Key duties include:

Assisting in the preparation of accurate cost estimates, considering budget, scope, and risk.

Supporting the development and implementation of project control structures (CBS, WBS, OBS).

Working closely with project planners to ensure consistency between cost estimates and schedules.

Analysing historical cost data to support benchmarking and cost forecasting.

Contributing to the project risk management process, supporting the development of risk and uncertainty modelling.

Participating in estimate reviews and internal process improvement initiatives.

Supporting reporting cycles with accurate and insightful project cost updates.

About You

We're seeking candidates with strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset. Ideally, you will have:

HNC/HND (preferably in Engineering or a related discipline) or equivalent experience.

Understanding of the project lifecycle and gated processes within infrastructure or energy sectors.

Knowledge of estimate development strategies and risk-based estimating techniques.

Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.

Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ACostE) is desirable but not essential.
