Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join their established team in Fareham. This role will suit a Chartered or near-Chartered engineer seeking greater technical responsibility, project ownership, and clear progression within a close-knit, high-performing practice.
With a portfolio ranging from bespoke residential schemes to complex multi-million-pound commercial builds, the company offers genuine project variety, early design involvement, and direct collaboration with senior leadership. Principal Structural Engineer - Role Overview
- Lead and manage the structural design and delivery of residential and commercial projects from concept to completion.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and compliant with UK regulations.
- Undertake detailed analysis and design in steel, concrete, masonry and timber using industry-standard software.
- Liaise closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee, mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-quality design culture.
- Maintain or progress toward Chartered status with full professional support.
Requirements
- Chartered or near Chartered with the ICE or IStructE.
- Proven record delivering structural design across residential and/or commercial developments.
- Strong working knowledge of UK design codes and standards.
- Confident using analysis and design software with the ability to produce accurate calculations and reports.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site and client meetings as required.
Package & Benefits
- Salary: 60,000 - 70,000
