Head of Section

Location: Near Fareham

Salary: £35,526 - £37,692 per annum

Hours per week: 37 Hours, Monday - Friday with Flexible Office hours

The organisation supports UK and international law enforcement by processing criminal records for the purposes of public protection, safeguarding and worldwide community safety.

The Role

You will be a first line supervisor for up to 12 members of staff, so the primary focus of this role will be to lead, motivate and mentor your team.

Whilst supporting the performance and development of your team members and managing the day to day workload for your team and the wider department with your colleagues, you will also be required to identify and develop opportunities to change or improve your business processes to improve efficiency.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to problem solve effectively are key to this role. You will be working in a fast paced environment so the expectation is that you will be able to respond quickly to changing priorities.

There may be a need to represent the organisation at national and international meetings so candidates should note that this role may require travel which may involve overnight stays. The successful candidate must be able to meet travel requirements so therefore possess a valid passport for travel outside of the UK and have access to a reliable system of transport where required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to QCF Level 3 OR A Level OR work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
  • At least two years working in a busy office environment with some evidence of either managing a team, allocating work, and mentoring or coaching others.
