Rate: £12.50 – £13.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4:00pm Friday: 7:00am–12:00pm
About the Role of Cable Assembler
We are seeking a skilled Cable Assembler to join a fast paced production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and preparing cables to a high standard using a variety of tools and equipment. Tasks will include cable cutting, stripping, crimping, looming, and soldering, following detailed work instructions and maintaining strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, strip, and prepare cables according to specifications.
- Perform crimping and tinning of wires and connectors.
- Assemble cable looms using basic loom boards.
- Operate cut-and-strip machines and other relevant equipment.
- Solder cables and ensure high-quality terminations.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC-A-620 standards where applicable.
- Accurately maintain and update job history on all route cards for tasks completed.
- Report any issues that could impact delivery schedules or product quality.
- Comply with all Health & Safety, housekeeping, quality, and environmental policies.
Skills and Requirements
- Previous cable assembly experience is desirable; training can be provided.
- Ability to solder to a high standard (required for £13 per hour rate).
- Familiarity with IPC-A-620 standards is advantageous.
- Experience using cut-and-strip machines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- IT/Computer literate.
