Join our client's Environmental Services team as a Street Cleansing Operative, helping to keep Fareham's streets and public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.



The Role


Working Friday to Tuesday, you will operate caged vehicles and machinery to sweep streets, empty litter bins, and remove waste throughout the borough. Weekend shifts involve patrolling the town centre, ensuring this vibrant area remains inviting for everyone.


Working hours:
Friday: 07:30 - 15:30
Saturday & Sunday: 07:00 - 15:30
Monday & Tuesday: 07:30 - 16:00



About You


We are looking for someone with a mature, professional attitude who takes pride in their work and can perform tasks independently. As a visible representative of the council, you will demonstrate politeness and professionalism at all times.


Essential requirements:


  • Full, clean driving licence (desirable but not essential)

  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices including manual handling

  • Willingness to learn and apply various street cleansing methods

  • Common sense, reliability, and dedication to maintaining a clean community
