Service Desk Engineer - 3rd Line (MSP Environment)

Spectrum IT has partnered with an award-winning MSP who take pride in their corporate social responsibility and active role in the wider community. From apprentices to directors, their team is united by a strong sense of purpose, regularly giving back through charity work, local engagement, and pro bono services.

They are now looking for a 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer to join their Technical Operations team. This is a senior role offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to support both technical strategy and team development.

?? Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of escalated 3rd line support tickets across infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms
  • Lead the design and delivery of technical projects
  • Mentor and support junior engineers across the service desk
  • Provide expert on-site support to clients as needed
  • Participate in pre-sales meetings to offer technical input alongside account managers
  • Maintain thorough documentation in line with internal processes
  • Support out-of-hours patching and on-call rota (post-probation)
? What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years' experience in a technical support role within a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
  • Proven technical breadth - from virtualisation to cloud, networking, and end-user support
  • A full, clean UK driving license
  • Confidence troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
  • A natural communicator with a customer-first mindset
  • A proactive learner who enjoys both autonomy and collaboration
�? Bonus Skills (Desirable):
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper and HP/Aruba networking solutions
  • Familiarity with Unifi or Aruba Wi-Fi deployment and support
