As a Mentor you will:

    • Build trusting, supportive relationships with assigned students
    • Encourage engagement with school and programme activities
    • Support social-emotional development and well-being
    • Provide consistent, reliable mentorship tailored to individual needs
    • Collaborate with schools and programme staff to monitor progress

About you:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude
    • Experience working with young people (preferred but not essential)
    • Ability to commit to regular mentoring sessions
    • A genuine desire to make a positive impact

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • A background in youth work/ support work is highly desirable
      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
      • Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are essential, along with a calm nature

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
