Bennett and Game are representing a well-established civil engineering sub-contractor looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their vibrant team. With over 50 years of experience specialising in deep drainage, pipelines, pump stations, and temporary works, this company has a strong track record of delivering projects for major clients, including Southern Water and Thames Water

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in below-ground civil engineering projects, particularly within the water industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, contracts, and ensuring financial efficiency across various projects.?

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project expenditures.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to monitor project progress and financial performance.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate contracts and resolve financial issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.?

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor ideally in below-ground civil engineering projects.
  • Proven experience in the water industry, with knowledge of Southern Water's standards and procedures being advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, contract law, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
