Who are you?

  • Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
  • Have a good understanding of child development and experience of supporting young children in a school or pre-school setting (essential)
  • Have a good sense of humour!
  • Have knowledge of alternative communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to nurture children in accordance with their individual emotional, social and learning needs
  • Excellent behaviour management skill
  • Able to provide written and verbal feedback to the class teacher as required
  • understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to your assigned child in delivering lesson content and facilitating learning inside and outside the classroom.
  • Follow any specific intervention and support programmes for your assigned child.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support children’s social and emotional development, encouraging confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to implement personalised support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and well-being through encouragement and structured support.
