Prospero Teaching are looking for dedicated and compassionate Tutors to support post-16 students in the Fareham area who are working towards qualifications such as Functional Skills. Many of the young people we work with have experienced challenges in education and may have significant gaps in their learning.
This role is about more than just teaching-it's about rebuilding confidence, creating positive learning experiences, and making a lasting impact.
As a Tutor, you will:
- Deliver tailored one-to-one sessions to post-16 learners working towards qualifications such as Functional Skills
- Identify and address gaps in learning, adapting your approach to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that builds confidence and motivation
- Use creative and flexible teaching methods to re-engage learners who may have had negative experiences in education
- Track and report on student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for further development
- Be a positive role model, demonstrating patience, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to helping young people succeed

- A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to teaching
- Experience working with young people who may have had a negative experience of education
- Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs and learning styles
- A commitment to helping learners achieve meaningful progress

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
