Our client, a leading firm specialising in the provision of marine Construction services, is currently seeking a dedicated Bid / Tender Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is based in Fareham and offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within the marine industry.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carefully review tender documentation to understand every requirement and ensure nothing is overlooked
  • Visit information sources and project sites to gather critical data and uncover additional opportunities for success
  • Brainstorm and develop creative, alternative solutions that could set the tender apart from the competition
  • Request proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, then evaluate them to find the most competitive and reliable options
  • Apply existing knowledge and expertise, and tap into the wider network for support in areas like soil evaluation, contractual and legal considerations, and risk management
  • Work with the Head of Business Development and Estimating to establish the tender price, carefully document any risks, and solidify the overall approach
  • Prepare detailed methodology, clear contractual clarifications, and all required documentation to ensure a standout submission
  • Support the Project Team during the post-award phase to ensure seamless preparation and execution
  • Visit project sites to evaluate methods, identify deviations, and suggest improvements for future efficiency
  • Seek feedback from the Project Manager after execution to analyse performance and refine processes for subsequent costing purposes
  • Always uphold or exceed WOW (Way of Working) and NINA (No Injuries, No Accidents) standards, ensuring a culture of safety and excellence


Job Requirements:

  • An understanding of marine projects, preferably within the UK and/or Irish markets
  • Contract experience with a wide range including NEC, ICC & FIDIC
  • Experience in managing a tender process and interacting with clients and sub-contractors
  • Ability to work in a team to achieve high-quality submissions within strict deadlines
  • A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
