Automation / Control Systems Engineer

• Full time, permanent
• Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience

Join our client’s growing team based in Oxfordshire and work with clients from around the world! The company specialises in designing PLC and SCADA control systems for the glass manufacturing process. They are seeking an experienced Engineer to work on the full project cycle, from documentation to onsite commissioning and training.

Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• PLC and HMI programming using Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware Intouch, WinCC, Inductive Automation Ignition, and FTView
• Networking and database management using Python, CSS, Java, SQL, and MYSQL
• Electrical fault finding and in-depth knowledge of control panel design
• Evaluating customer needs to determine the best-fit control system solution
• Onsite system commissioning and training
• Interpreting and supervising the generation of project drawings, schematics, and documentation
• Project hardware selection and testing
• Ability to work un-supervised both in our office and at our customer’s sites throughout the world
• Maximum of 80 days per year onsite

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum HNC in Electrical /Controls /Automation discipline
• Minimum 5+ years in controls project lifecycles
• Familiarity with process control; flow, temperature, pressures, etc
• Proficiency with PLC and HMI programming using Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware Intouch, WinCC, Inductive Automation Ignition, and FTView
• Networking and database management using Python, CSS, Java, SQL, and MYSQL
• Electrical fault finding and in-depth knowledge of control panel design
• Must have valid authorization to work in the UK without employer sponsorship
• Must have a valid driver’s license

• Competitive salary range of £40-£65K dependent on experience
• Onsite bonuses for commissioning of 68/day = £5-6k extra per year
