GSL Education are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Farnborough to recruit a dedicated Design & Technology Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about practical learning and creative subjects to support the delivery of high-quality D&T education.

As a Design & Technology Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, organised, and well-equipped environment for students to thrive in subjects such as Product Design, Engineering, and Graphics. This includes preparing materials, maintaining equipment, supporting in-class learning, and helping to manage health and safety protocols within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up materials and equipment for practical D&T lessons.
  • Maintain tools, machinery, and workshop spaces in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide in-class support to teachers and students during practical sessions.
  • Manage stock levels, order materials, and keep inventory records.
  • Support the implementation of departmental displays and projects.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working in a workshop or school environment (experience within a school is desirable but not essential).
  • Possesses knowledge of Health & Safety procedures related to D&T equipment and materials.
  • Is confident in handling and maintaining tools and machinery such as laser cutters, 3D printers, and woodworking tools.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Holds relevant qualifications or training in Design & Technology or a related field (advantageous but not essential).
