My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the end-to-end AP process. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong vendor relationships across international markets, with a strong emphasis on multi-currency invoicing and expense reconciliation.
Day-to-day of the role:- Process and verify supplier invoices in multiple currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, etc.).
- Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage expense claims and reimbursements for crew and staff, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments via bank transfers and other payment platforms.
- Liaise with international vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice queries.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting.
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Monitor currency fluctuations and their impact on payable balances.
- Continuously improve AP processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, ideally within aviation, travel, or luxury services.
- Strong understanding of multi-currency accounting and international payment processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with international teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of VAT and other international tax regulations is a plus.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- AAT, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification (part-qualified or qualified) or qualified by experience.
- Experience with expense management platforms (e.g., Concur, Expensify).
- Familiarity with aviation industry operations and terminology.
