Our client Manufacturing precision machined castings, they are currently seeking an experienced Manual Turner/Miller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of machining processes and be proficient in operating manual lathes and related equipment. The role includes producing components to exact specifications while maintaining high-quality production standards.

Main duties:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings to support accurate component manufacturing.
  • Utilize strong mathematical abilities and precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Manufacture components to exact specifications using a range of equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and drilling tools.
  • Conduct in-process inspections with gauges and measurement instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement efforts within the production environment.
  • Consistently maintain precise tolerances while upholding health and safety best practices with strong attention to detail.

Experience and skills required:

  • Hands-on experience working within a machining or workshop environment.
  • Proficient in operating manual and semi-automatic lathes and milling machines, including Prototrak and XYZ equipment.
  • Possess time-served qualifications such as ONC, NVQ, or equivalent apprenticeship training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and effective as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to meet the practical demands of the role.
