My client is recruiting for a Legal Secretary the Family department. This role is part of a support team that provides secretarial and administrative support to our fee earners, ensuring they can focus on the legal work and provide an efficient, friendly and professional service to clients.

Responsibilities

Providing general secretarial support including diary management, digital dictation, file management etc.

Preparing court forms including Form E, petitions, general applications etc.

Producing court bundles and preparing briefs to counsel

Dealing with client enquiries both in person and by phone

Experience

Previous experience of Family law is desirable - legal secretarial experience of other areas of law will be considered.

IT literate and willing - able to learn and utilise systems fully in line with Firm guidelines, open to and able to champion system developments and implement change.

Good compliance knowledge - familiarity with anti-money laundering requirements

Good commercial awareness - understands the importance of efficiency, completing work within timescales set, quality of work, compliance with policies / procedures etc in delivering a service to our clients and maximising fees and profitability

Education

A level educated (or equivalent)

English and Maths to a business professional level

Degree level related to law or a proven track-record in a similar legal secretary role
