Our Farnborough based client, a prestigious law firm, is currently looking for an Operations Manager to join the Family Law team. You will work with the Head of Department to provide an administration overview, supporting on general secretarial tasks on a day-to-day basis.
They are looking for an individual with a strong operational and administrative background. You should have previous managerial experience to provide guidance to members of the team to ensure that all administrative processes and procedures are followed. Successful candidates will be required to have a full and thorough understanding of department processes and identify improvements to eradicate inefficiencies.

The role is based in Farnborough and is fully office based. The salary is £30,000-£35,000 dependant on experience. In addition to your salary, the company also offer a fantastic £1,000-£2,000 bonus too!!
Working hours are 9:00-5:30pm Monday Friday based in the Farnborough office.
What will I be doing as an Operations Manager?
- Provide general secretarial support for the HOD and fee earners within the department including correspondence, court forms, digital dictation, billing and other documents
- Manage client enquiries in person, via email and by phone
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and data for key meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and ready to take action
- Handle the scheduling and diary management for the Head of Department (HOD), ensuring seamless organisation of their time
- Assist in processing client complaints, making sure issues are handled efficiently and professionally
- Gather up-to-date billing information from Fee Earners to ensure timely and accurate billing cycles
- Work closely with the Accounts team on forecasts, billing, and financial reporting to support department goals
- Take charge of monthly business development meetings, collaborating with the HOD and Business Relationships Manager to boost department growth.
- Help reduce aged debt by working closely with Fee Earners to find solutions and improve financial performance
- Conduct regular audits, ensure all files are compliant with internal and external standards, and suggest ways to enhance processes
- Support the HOD with department-wide initiatives and lead on special projects when needed
What ideal skills/ attributes do I need as an Operations Manager? (not all essential)
- Proven managerial experience as a Legal Secretary, or in an operations or administration capacity in a professional services or client facing environment
- Excellent document management and administrative skills with high attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to liaise professionally with clients and third parties
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in digital dictation, legal case management systems, and Microsoft Office
- Collaborative team player with a flexible, supportive approach
