Are you a former police officer with recent investigative experience? We are currently seeking a PIP1-accredited Police Staff Investigator to support a local neighbourhood policing team in Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful investigations and help deliver justice in your community.

About the Role

As a PIP1 Investigator, you will play a key role in investigating serious and complex crimes. You’ll use a range of investigative techniques to gather evidence, always placing the victim at the heart of your work. Your efforts will support the delivery of fair and effective outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investigators, specialists, and supervisors to gather and assess material and develop investigative strategies.
  • Collect, record, and retain evidence from various sources in a legally admissible format.
  • Plan and execute investigative actions, balancing priorities and available resources.
  • Assess threat, harm, and risk to develop effective investigative plans.
  • Conduct interviews with witnesses and suspects in line with PIP standards, generating further lines of enquiry where necessary.
  • Prepare case files and reports, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural standards.

Essential Requirements

  • PIP1 accreditation (Professionalising Investigations Programme Level 1 or higher).
  • Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in police or criminal investigations.
  • Proficiency in using police systems and preparing case files for court.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong understanding of investigative procedures and criminal justice processes.
