The Role
Fully office-based position, responsible for managing all aspects of payroll while also supporting bookkeeping and / or accounts preparation.
- End-to-end weekly and monthly payroll preparation and processing
- Pension submissions and HMRC compliance (RTI, P60s, P45s, etc.)
- Maintaining up-to-date employee payroll records
- Day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including ledgers, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and VAT returns
- Support in preparing and assisting with year-end processes and, if you'd like to learn, some management accounts
- Ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently
What You'll Need
- Proven experience managing payroll processes in a UK business
- Solid bookkeeping or accounts preparation background
- Strong working knowledge of Xero (or similar) and Excel is preferred
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and tax requirements
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working independently
