Family Liaison Officer – Secondary School – Farnborough
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time, Term-Time Only

GSL Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and community-driven secondary school in Farnborough to recruit a dedicated Family Liaison Officer for a September 2025 start. This is a rewarding, term-time only role that plays a pivotal part in strengthening the home-school partnership and supporting families to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

The Role:
As a Family Liaison Officer, you will act as the vital link between the school and its families, promoting positive relationships and fostering engagement with parents and carers. You will work closely with school staff, external agencies, and families to identify and address barriers to learning, improve attendance, and provide early help and guidance where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective and supportive relationships with students and their families.
  • Promote regular attendance and punctuality through proactive communication and intervention.
  • Liaise with external support services and professionals where necessary.
  • Provide practical advice and emotional support to parents and carers.
  • Assist in safeguarding students by working collaboratively with the school's safeguarding and pastoral teams.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a similar role working with children, young people, or families within an educational, social care or community setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
  • A compassionate, proactive, and resilient approach to problem-solving.
  • A relevant qualification in education, social work, youth work or related field (desirable).
