Time Appointments are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established client based in Felixstowe, who are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Customs Clearance Operative to strengthen their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with European Customs Clearance experience to join a well-known company with opportunities to progress.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive Import/Exports European Customs Clearance experience
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Customs tariffs and application of relevant procedures
  • Experienced in the use of role related software including Destin8, CNS and Multifreight
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully manage and find solutions for complex and unexpected situations
  • Customer focussed, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work within a team and independently as appropriate
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collating of relevant customs and shipping paperwork
  • Preparation and transmission of Customs Entries and obtaining of Customs Clearance
  • Collation and advice of charges payable to customer and arranging of payment to and release
  • Handling clearances via any required mode of transport from start to finish.
  • Proactive and efficient communication to customers, vendors, and government bodies.
  • Ensuring customs compliance is maintained at all times
  • Delivering high levels of customer service at all times whilst having a good understanding of commercial awareness
