CAT A & CAT B Fit-Outs | Hybrid Working | Autonomy + Support
When it comes to fast-track CAT A and CAT B commercial office fit-outs, you're either cut out for it, or you're not.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy the challenge of transforming spaces, and want the freedom to run with your own ideas (while still having support when you need it), this one's for you.
You'll be joining a leading D&B Contractor that delivers exceptional commercial workspaces across London and the South East. They're small enough that your input makes a difference, but established enough to punch well above their weight.
They're progressive in their mindset, encouraging flexible, hybrid working.
So, you won't be chained to a desk or stuck on-site five days a week. Expect one to two days working from home each week.
You'll work closely with contracts managers and the pre-construction team, owning the electrical design across CAT A & CAT B commercial office projects, typically managing 2-3 live jobs at a time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and manage scaled drawings using AutoCAD.
- Carry out load assessments and create detailed load schedules.
- Complete cable calculations and develop cable/distribution board schedules.
- Use Dialux, Relux, or manufacturer software for lighting/emergency lighting designs.
- Deliver fully coordinated installation-ready working drawings.
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 regulations.
- Collaborate with contracts managers from pre-construction through to project handover.
What You'll Need:
- Strong experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on CAT A & B commercial office projects.
- Solid skills in AutoCAD and electrical design software (e.g. Trimble, Amtech).
- Confident using Dialux or Relux for lighting design.
- Good understanding of BS 7671 and industry regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently while working well in a team.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under pressure.
