Accounts Manager (Sole role) Annual Salary: £40-45k Job Type: Full-time, office based ( possible 1 day hybrid)Â
We are seeking a sole Accounts Manager for an independent specialist importer and e-commerce business. This hands-on role requires a candidate with strong technical accounting skills, capable of managing profit & loss, balance sheets, and inter-company reconciliations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial management accounts ( working with an outsourced accountant) and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct month-end and year-end procedures for both companies, including accruals/prepayments, balance sheet, P&L, and inter-company reconciliations/analysis.
- Prepare monthly management accounts for Director’s review and liaise with outsourced accountants for adjustments and compliance matters.
- Manage GBP/USD/Euro cashbooks including data entry, intercompany transfers, and reconciliations. Communicate with bankers on ad hoc issues and manage foreign currency transactions.
- Complete and submit VAT returns and conduct monthly postponed VAT checks.
- Manage UK & International P2P processes, including multi-currency invoice processing, nominal ledger, and compliant VAT coding and statement reconciliation.
- Manage sales ledger and credit control, including invoices, credit checks, and ensuring prompt debt collection.
- Supervise monthly payroll, managing timesheets, salary processing, PAYE, pension, and dividend payments.
- Utilise third-party data sources to support financial findings and improve reporting.
- Oversee and negotiate contract renewals, such as office insurance and phone contracts.
- Collaborate with other staff to implement new reporting/office processes and procedures to improve efficiency and mitigate risks of error.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar Accounts Manager role, preferably within an import/export or e-commerce environment and sole role
- Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to manage profit & loss and balance sheets.
- Experience with inter-company reconciliations and financial management account preparation.
- Proficiency in managing multi-currency transactions and VAT processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage line 50 is advantageous
