Freight Supervisor - Heathrow - Up to 45,000
Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder are currently seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to oversee day-to-day ocean import operations, managing shipments from arrival through final delivery. The role involves supervising a small team, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations, and maintaining high standards of service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all ocean import operations from origin to delivery.
- Oversee documentation processes, including bills of lading, customs entries, and delivery orders.
- Ensure timely customs clearance and release of shipments.
- Liaise daily with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers.
- Allocate workloads, monitor team performance, and provide coaching and support to staff.
- Resolve any shipment delays, discrepancies, or service failures effectively.
- Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring invoicing accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with HMRC, CDS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Produce regular performance and KPI reports for management.
- Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, and import documentation.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior operator role.
- Proficiency with Destin8, Cargowise, or similar freight systems.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to service delivery.
