Just one stop from Heathrow Airport, Atrium Hotel Heathrow is an urban retreat offering 570 ultra chic bedrooms with delectable culinary offerings through multiple Food & Beverage outlets, sizeable event spaces and exquisite wellness like swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and the fitness centre.
Job Summary
The Sales Director is responsible for generating and developing hotel sales across all revenue-generating departments, with a primary focus on the corporate segment. This role maximizes revenue from corporate markets in line with the Sales Plan, while managing and motivating the Sales team to act as effective ambassadors of the hotel. The Sales Director serves as a key liaison between the hotel and corporate clients, driving long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1.Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Sales Plan with specific activities for each market segment.
- Increase occupancy, average rate, and profitability through effective planning, guidance, and training.
- Represent the hotels sales function in shaping company-wide business development strategies.
- Establish sales targets, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing budgets and annual Sales & Marketing plans.
- Oversee account management systems and ensure accurate forecasting.
2.Corporate Sales Focus
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel managers, and event planners.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure long-term corporate partnerships.
- Drive corporate room nights, meetings, and events revenue.
- Maintain personal contact with key customers and support sales team activities when required.
- Coordinate and attend industry events, trade shows, and client familiarisation trips.
- Initiate targeted client engagement activities, including direct mail campaigns and product training.
3.Team Leadership & Development
- Set and regularly review individual targets for the sales team.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve departmental goals.
- Conduct regular departmental communication meetings to ensure effective collaboration.
- Ensure the team has product knowledge and tools to perform effectively.
- Provide training and development opportunities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise departmental standards and service methods as outlined in hotel operations manuals.
4.Operational Requirement & Compliance
- Work closely with Reservations and Revenue Management to align strategies.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to departmental budgets and cost controls.
- Guarantee compliance with hotel policies, health & safety, hygiene, and local legislation.
- Ensure the team delivers friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
- Uphold fair and consistent treatment of employees in line with company policies and local legislation.
5.Professional Standards
- Lead by example in punctuality, professional appearance, and guest service.
- Ensure rotas are posted and timesheets submitted on time.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Remain flexible to adapt to changes in industry, company, or hotel operations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
Skills and requirements
- Accomplished hospitality sales leader with extensive UK Airport Hotel experience, delivering strong business development results and long-term client relationships
- Exceptional customer care skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Knowledge of Local area Heathrow / Hounslow is preferred
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the hotel
- Experience as a Departmental Head in sales department in hotels leading corporate segment is a highly preferred.
