Right Now Group are working with a leading freight forwarder seeking a Transport Manager. This role is pivotal in managing a team of planners and drivers, and ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Salary: £50,000 Location: HeathrowShift: 4 on 4 OFF 18:00-06:00
Key Duties:- Manage a team of planners and drivers, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers and main hauliers
- Maintaining strong communication and relationships.
- Oversee all aspects of transport operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety standards,
- Lead, motivate, and develop planning teams
- Drive operational efficiency by managing staff planning, setting clear objectives, and meeting key performance indicators
- Propose and implement operational changes to enhance performance and improve efficiency.
- Ensure ongoing development and training within the team
- Minimum of 5 years within Transport/Freight
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams
- A confident and professional communicator, skilled at building relationships at all levels.
- Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively and work within an evolving organization.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and safety standards within freight
