Customs Brokerage Clerk - Feltham - Up to 35,000

Our client are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Customs Brokerage Clerk to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance of freight, manage delivery processes, and facilitate efficient information flow, all while providing exceptional customer service.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:30am to 17:00pm

Salary: Up to 35,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute customs declarations in compliance with current regulations and procedures.
  • Review documentation to ensure accurate and sufficient information is available for customs entry.
  • Adhere to all customs and non-customs regulations including SPS, licensing, and restricted goods handling.
  • Validate shipment documentation against transportation records for accuracy (e.g., weight, quantities).
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing details on commercial invoices.
  • Apply correct customs classification (HTS), valuation, origin declaration, and preferential duty treatment as per customer SOPs.
  • Maintain clear records of all communications with customs authorities.
  • Utilize internal tools and systems for process optimization and documentation (e.g., electronic filing, data management).
  • Ensure full compliance with internal standards and governmental regulations.
  • Proactively communicate with customers, service providers, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Deliver a consistently high level of service, both internally and externally.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate management teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented workplace.
  • Ensure timely and precise shipment processing, data entry, and billing activities.
  • Follow customer SOPs and company operational procedures.
  • Invoice customers accurately and manage billing timelines to ensure minimal financial risk.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures.
  • Experience for a UK-based logistics company
  • Prior customs clearance experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Experience with customs declaration systems/software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
