About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and committed Food Technology Teacher to join our thriving SEND school in Hounslow. This is a unique opportunity to inspire and support young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs in a specialist, well-resourced environment.

You will play a key role in delivering a differentiated and practical Food Technology curriculum that builds life skills, independence, and confidence in our learners aged 11–16.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on Food Technology lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Foster creativity, safety, and independence in the kitchen

  • Plan and assess using EHCP outcomes and SEND-specific frameworks

  • Work closely with a team of dedicated teaching assistants

  • Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment

  • Collaborate with families and multi-agency professionals

Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)

  • Experience or strong interest in teaching students with SEND

  • Subject knowledge in Food Technology and practical skills in cooking and nutrition

  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing teaching approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
