As new officers are recruited, the need for robust and innovative ICT training becomes critical. As an ICT Trainer, you will play a key role in equipping officers and staff with the skills to use core police systems such as NICHE and PNC effectively.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and deliver engaging IT training programmes using a range of delivery methods and platforms
  • Train new officers and staff on core police systems, with a focus on NICHE and PNC
  • Identify individual and organisational training needs
  • Provide coaching, assessment, and ongoing support to learners
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation
  • Represent the Learning & Development team in meetings and liaise with internal/external partners
  • Ensure compliance with training standards, safeguarding, and force values
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • A recognised training qualification (e.g., Police Trainer Certificate, C&G Education/Training, NVQ Level 3 in Learning & Development) or equivalent experience
  • Strong IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience delivering training in a policing environment (desirable)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to a variety of learners
  • Organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Team player with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing
  • Must hold a UK driver’s licence (reasonable adjustments considered)
