Job Title: ICT Trainer (Police IT Systems – NICHE/PNC)Location: Ferndown (with occasional travel to Winfrith)Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025 (potential extension to March 2026)Rate: £22.85 Umbrella / £17.24 PAYEWorking Arrangement: Hybrid – 12 weeks initial office-based training, followed by 1 day a week minimum in-office (subject to increase)Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday (Flexitime available, no evenings or weekends)About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to join a major government-backed initiative aimed at boosting neighbourhood policing capacity. As new officers are recruited, the need for robust and innovative ICT training becomes critical. As an ICT Trainer, you will play a key role in equipping officers and staff with the skills to use core police systems such as NICHE and PNC effectively.Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and deliver engaging IT training programmes using a range of delivery methods and platforms
Train new officers and staff on core police systems, with a focus on NICHE and PNC
Identify individual and organisational training needs
Provide coaching, assessment, and ongoing support to learners
Maintain accurate training records and documentation
Represent the Learning & Development team in meetings and liaise with internal/external partners
Ensure compliance with training standards, safeguarding, and force values

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

A recognised training qualification (e.g., Police Trainer Certificate, C&G Education/Training, NVQ Level 3 in Learning & Development) or equivalent experience
Strong IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
Experience delivering training in a policing environment (desirable)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to a variety of learners
Organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
Team player with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing
Must hold a UK driver’s licence (reasonable adjustments considered)
