Temporary Housing Officer – 5 Month Contract

Location: East Dorset (covering Ferndown & Verwood)

Contract: Temporary – 5 months

Pay Rate: ÂŁ16.50 - ÂŁ18.50 per hour PAYE

A superb opportunity for a proactive, people-focused Housing Officer to join a dedicated team, delivering exceptional housing management services to residents in the independent living properties, acting as the go-to contact for residents, ensuring they remain safe, well, and independent. You will build trust, solve problems fast, and help people stay well and independent in their homes.

Main tasks include:

  • Being a visible, accessible presence in our communities and building trusted relationships with customers.
  • Conducting annual “check-ins” to ensure residents’ wellbeing and independence.
  • Arranging and running scheme meetings, encouraging customer involvement.
  • Organising social inclusion activities and signposting community opportunities.
  • Carrying out Health & Safety and neighbourhood inspections, managing risks promptly.
  • Liaising with care providers, service partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues effectively.
  • Managing tenancies, including support, enforcement, and thorough case management.
  • Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate records using digital and mobile IT systems.

What you will bring:

  • Experience in the housing sector and an understanding of current housing issues.
  • Insight into the needs of older, disabled, and vulnerable customers.
  • Resilience, empathy, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
