Blaymires Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected building contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to lead Retail and Petroleum projects across the UK.

The company, established over 20 years ago, has built a strong reputation as a leader in the Electric Vehicle Charging, Petroleum, and Retail Construction sectors. Their clients include major blue-chip brands such as Asda, BP, McDonald’s, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco, with project values ranging from £1M to £10M.

Responsibilities of the Site Manager

  • Manage the day-to-day running of construction sites to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Enforce health & safety standards across all site activities.
  • Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and site operatives to meet programme milestones.
  • Ensure all works are completed to high standards and within strict deadlines.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Travel and stay away from home as required by project location.

Requirements of the Site Manager

  • Proven experience managing Groundworks, Civil Engineering, or Retail construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and subcontractor coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfortable working on fast-paced, multi-site projects.

Qualifications of the Site Manager

  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS certificate
  • First Aid at Work
  • HNC or equivalent in Construction or Civil Engineering (preferred)
