About the Role:

As a Senior Womenswear Buyer, you will be reporting to the Head of Fashion with responsibility for a multimillion-pound product area to plan, source and develop. You will ensure range is the correct balance of new & contemporary products that meets sales, margin & profit objectives. You will manage & develop the junior team & support the wider division. Our buying teams possesses a blend of analytical ability and creative thinking, drawing from historical data and market trends to craft an assortment that stays true to our brand and excites our customer.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the buying team to deliver the brand strategy, providing energy to drive the business forward and have innovative ideas for the category.
  • Work effectively to manage the department as an independent profit centre focusing activity on meeting customer needs and achieving bottom line results whilst planning and developing for the future to achieve optimum performance and profit growth.
  • Competent in data analysis to identify opportunities from weekly reports, analyse trading patterns and take appropriate action.
  • Following each season, execute a detailed hindsight / strategic line review process at the department level to inform future strategy and identify line list needs for development.
  • Prevent quality problems by considering and solving issues early on.
  • Manage a robust critical path, ensuring garment fits, garment standards and timely product delivery are met.

Suggested Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant buying experience in apparel.
  • A deep understanding of sales analysis and financial metrics that relate to your business.
  • In-depth knowledge of the market/competition and an ability to gather and use relevant internal and external information to make commercial decisions.
  • Strong understanding of fabric, garment construction, and the buying process.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed by the department.
  • Can perform under pressure and operate in a fast-paced team-based setting
