Blaymires Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected building contractor in Fleet who is searching for anAssistant Quantity Surveyorto join their business.

The company, established over 20 years ago, has built a strong reputation as a leader in the Electric Vehicle Charging, Petroleum, and Retail Construction sectors. Their clients include major blue-chip brands such asAsda, BP, McDonalds, Sainsburys,andTesco, with project values ranging from £1M to £10M.

The company is entering a sustained busy period and is searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and will consider anyone withEstimating, Quantity SurveyingorBuyingexperience who is looking for an opportunity to continue developing and learning.

In this role you will estimate and manage project costs, taking projects through to final account. You will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will offer support and guidance.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months of experience and have a formal qualification such as (Degree/HNC/Diploma) in construction or surveying and will demonstrate their ability and eagerness to develop the necessary skills quickly to grow into the role.

The role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
  • Assist with compiling and tendering of subcontract and supplier packages.
  • Assist with the placing and management of subcontract and supplier order packages.
  • Assist with both on-site and drawing based measurement to produce quantities for material ordering and checking of invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of and invoicing of monthly client valuations.
  • Assist the commercial department in the daily tasks relative to running of numerous construction projects.
  • Assist in the monthly checking of sub-contractor and supplier invoices to ensure agreed costings and rates and issue approval of payment.
  • General administration to assist in efficient running of busy commercial department.
  • Assist with managing all project costs, taking projects through to final account.

  • Be able to communicate effectively.
  • Well organised and possess a methodical approach.
  • Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Dropbox.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • An appreciation of commercial awareness.
  • Possess enthusiasm and initiative.
