Development Chemist - Folkestone
Location: Folkestone
Pay Rate: 16.35 per hour
Contract: Temporary (with potential for extension)
Requirements: Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field

We are seeking a Development Chemist to support the ongoing management of personal care products after launch. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining product quality, safety, and compliance through testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Changes: Evaluate and approve ingredient, packaging, or manufacturing site changes while ensuring product consistency and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams (regulatory, safety, supply chain, quality) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers, test labs).
  • Testing: Plan and conduct in-house or outsourced testing to verify product performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation: Prepare validation reports, test plans, and other technical documents in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot product issues and provide updates to stakeholders on risks and progress.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, or similar
  • Experience in cosmetics or personal care industry (especially formulation/testing)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in documentation and data analysis using IT tools
