Passionate about supporting children with hearing impairments? We’re seeking a caring and experienced Communication Support Worker to work one-to-one with a deaf child in Reception at a lovely primary school in Folkestone. Immediate start – rewarding opportunity!

We are recruiting on behalf of a warm and inclusive primary school in Folkestone for a Communication Support Worker to support a deaf child in Reception (Year R) on a one-to-one basis.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: 9th June 2025

  • End Date: End of July 2025 

  • Hours: 9:00am – 2:00pm (Monday to Friday)

  • Location: Folkestone, Kent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored communication support, including British Sign Language (BSL) if qualified, to help the child access the full curriculum

  • Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCO, and external hearing support services

  • Foster the child’s language development, confidence, and engagement within the classroom and during social times

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children in an educational setting

  • Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is highly desirable

  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
