Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced and compassionate Tutors to support young learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our learners range from ages 4 to post-16, many of whom have missed significant periods of schooling and have gaps in their learning. We are looking for Tutors who can deliver personalised, engaging sessions in Maths and English, helping students to rebuild confidence and make meaningful academic progress.

A number of referrals and students, requiring differing hours, times and dates are available at present.

As a n SEMH Tutor you will:

    • Deliver high-quality Maths and English tuition adapted to individual needs
    • Use creative and therapeutic approaches to engage learners
    • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
    • Support emotional well being and resilience through positive relationships

About you:

    • Experience working with SEMH learners or in a similar educational setting
    • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and/or English (GCSE level)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Patience, empathy, and a trauma-informed approach
    • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
          • Knowledge of safeguarding and SEND frameworks
          • Experience of working with learners with SEMH needs

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
