Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Lead
Our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Lead to develop PCBA and product test capability, support reliable production, and lead a small team of engineers/technicians. This role suits a hands-on electronics engineer with strong leadership and project delivery skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small Electronics Manufacturing & Test team.
- Introduce new products, processes and automated test equipment into manufacturing.
- Design, validate and document electronic test systems and verification processes.
- Provide advanced diagnostic support and root-cause analysis.
- Support data-driven improvements across manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
- Contribute to DfM/DfA/DfT and ensure IPC standards are met.
- Drive continuous improvement in PCBA manufacturing and test.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong electronics design, measurement and fault-finding capability.
- Leadership experience within engineering/manufacturing.
- PCB/circuit design using modern CAD tools.
- Experience with SMT/PCBA/AOI equipment.
- Understanding of firmware/software and basic coding.
- Strong problem-solving skills (8D, A3, RCA).
- Excellent communication, organisation and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with ISO9001 or similar quality systems.
Desirable
- Firmware/software coding skills.
- Six Sigma/Lean experience.
- ATEX/IECEx or hazardous-area product experience.
- Knowledge of ISO45001/14001.
- 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
Qualifications
- HNC/HND/Degree in Electronics or related discipline.
- Electronic CAD experience essential.
