Job title:HGVTechnician
Location: Fradley
Salary: up to 50,000 DOE
Recruit Central are currently looking for aHGVTechnicianto join our Client's operation due to their rapid growth and increase in demand for labour hours.
Main duties of anHGVTechnician:
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing onHGVs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Inspect vehicle systems including brakes, engines, and suspensions
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues
- Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the workshop
- Keep tools and equipment clean, calibrated, and in good condition
- Assist with ordering parts and liaising with suppliers
- Support and guide junior mechanics or apprentices (when applicable)
Requirements forHGVTechnicianRole:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similarHGVmechanic/technicianrole
- City and Guilds Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems onHGVs
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and follow technical manuals
- Good understanding of DVSA standards and MOT preparation requirements
- Full UK driving licence (HGVClass 1 or 2 is preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work shifts or overtime if required
- Basic IT skills for logging repairs
