Supervisor

Location: Friston, Suffolk 

Pay Rate: £23 - £30 ph PAYE/ PAYE UMBRELLA/ CIS UMBRELLA

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate civil construction works including groundworks, drainage, concrete structures, ducting, and reinstatement.

• Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.

• Liaise with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure efficient project delivery.

• Oversee the use of plant and materials, checking delivery notes and stock levels.

• Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, and material usage.

• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are carried out to design specifications.

• Manage site permits and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.

• Address site issues or delays proactively and escalate when necessary.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven experience in supervising civil engineering works.

• Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, utilities, or highways (depending on sector).

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification.

• CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred).

• First Aid at Work.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Good communication and leadership skills.

• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• NRSWA Supervisor (for street works/utilities projects).

• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.

• Experience with GPS and setting out equipment.

• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Construction Site Supervision (or equivalent).
