About the Role:
As an Engineering Operations Manager, you'll support growing client demand and strategic partnerships. Your key focus will be on managing customer communications, leading project activities, planning across various projects, and overseeing the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day project operations, ensuring efficiency and budget adherence.
- Develop and communicate project plans to customers and the engineering team.
- Recruit and onboard new team members, including field-based engineers.
- Maintain high-quality standards and safe working practices within the team.
- Manage supplier relationships and supply chain requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews with engineers to promote skill growth and address issues.
- Act as the second line of escalation for customer project challenges.
- Monitor budgets and address variances.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven experience managing service/project teams.
- Hands-on project management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in a relevant electrical discipline.
- Demonstrated mechanical skills.
- Strong appetite to learn and use company and third-party software systems.
- Full UK passport and driving license.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Prince2, Agile).
- PLC skills (Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens).
- Understanding of TCP/IP networks (Firewalls, IIS, FTP).
- Knowledge of Vision devices (Sick, Cognex, Omron).
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS).
- Experience with industrial devices and communication protocols.
- Proficiency in another language (German, Spanish, French).
