We're working on behalf of a brilliant special school that are looking for a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant to join the team from the summer term ideally on a long-term basis. The school look after a wide range of special needs & disabilities which will often be Complex needs.
The school are a truly unique environment who are incredibly proud of the work they do there - providing a valuable service to families in the area.
The role
The role of TA mostly involves providing general classroom support as well as 1-1 support. This position is within a lovely KS1 class of 6 students where you will be working alongside 3 other TA's. The class are apparently a really wonderful class to be a part of, the full-time TA's and class teacher have all been there since start of year so know the students well.
Due to the needs of the students it is imperative that you have some form of experience working with SEND, whether this be in a school setting or in support work. What's most important to them is having the right people working at the school; the need people who are patient, positive, enthusiastic, proactive and hard working.
