Thrive Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a professional services company in Frome to recruit a Family Law Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in legal administration who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of families during challenging times.

What you will be doing:

As a Family Law Assistant, you'll provide essential support to our family law solicitors, helping manage a busy caseload that includes divorce, child arrangements, financial matters, and domestic abuse cases. Your role will ensure the smooth running of files from instruction to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and formatting legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, court dates, and client appointments
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Opening and closing files, maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting with case management systems and billing procedures

What you will need to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a legal assistant or legal secretary role (preferably in family law)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and discretion
  • Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office
