The Family Secretary will play a crucial role in supporting our solicitors and legal executives in the Family Law department. This position involves a combination of administrative duties, client interaction, and document management, requiring a high degree of discretion, efficiency, and sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents including divorce petitions, care proceedings, and financial agreements

  • Managing correspondence, telephone calls, and emails with clients and third parties

  • Maintaining and organising client files in line with regulatory and confidentiality requirements

  • Coordinating appointments, court dates, and meetings

  • Assisting with billing, timesheets, and other administrative tasks as needed

  • Liaising with courts, barristers’ chambers, and other professionals

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a legal secretary role, ideally within a family law department

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities

  • A discreet, empathetic, and client-focused approach

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
