Our client, a long-established and highly regarded structural steel fabrication company in the Southwest, is looking for a driven Draughtsperson to join their expanding technical team. You'll have the chance to take on more responsibility, work on a diverse range of steel structures, and progress towards senior draughting or technical leadership roles with full support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Producing accurate general arrangement drawings and detailed fabrication packages for a variety of steel-framed buildings
- Creating 3D models using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Advance Steel)
- Preparing layout drawings, connection details, and workshop-ready information
- Collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Ensuring drawings meet relevant standards and client specifications
- Communicating with architects, clients, and site teams when required
- Contributing to process improvements and, over time, supporting junior team members as you grow
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Structural Technician or Draughtsperson within steelwork, construction, or fabrication
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Tekla, or Advance Steel
- Solid understanding of steel structures, fabrication processes, and connection detailing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering information and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- A collaborative, proactive approach with good communication abilities
- Ambition to develop into a senior draughting or technical leadership role
