You would be working in a small dedicated team for a growing family business giving you a chance to have your voice heard, create your own fresh, seasonal and exciting dishes in partnership with the head chef and the other members of the kitchen team.

The George is located in the charming town of Kirton in Lindsey in Lincolnshire. Our pub, restaurant and rooms offer everything you would expect from a 17th century coaching inn. Because we are a small supportive team, we offer a great work life balance for somebody in this industry. Our establishment ensures our kitchen staff finish at a reasonable hour at night especially during the week.

The job in brief

• • Work alongside the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations

  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team, ensuring smooth and efficient service

  • Maintain high standards of food presentation, consistency, and hygiene

  • Contribute to menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients

  • Train junior staff and uphold a culture of respect, safety, and excellence

  • Manage ordering, stock control, and kitchen admin when required
